Is Blacklist on tonight June 11 2022

It's a bit jarring for fans of a show whenever the time it's supposed to air is changed mid-season, or it's moved to an entirely different night. That happened with Ghost Hunters in the first season when new episodes of our show played back to back and then took a few weeks off for whatever reason. While many would argue that with a litany of streaming options and people deciding when they want to watch new episodes of their favorite shows, that doesn't matter. But that hasn't stopped fans of The Blacklist from wondering when the next episode is playing.

When is the next episode of 'The Blacklist' coming on air?

So fans of the series were excited at the prospect of checking out a new episode of The Blacklist on Friday, June 11, however they learned that it would be put off until the following week. Instead, The Blacklist Season 8, episode 21 will actually debut on Wednesday, June 16 2021 on NBC.

Instead, NBC's decided to air Minions followed by Dateline.

It's the second-to-last episode in the season, so it wouldn't make sense for NBC to go and alter its time, as well as pushing back the Season 8 finale to June 23, 2021.

So why the change?

Well, NBC needed to make a few changes to its schedule and that's due in part to the kick-off of the Olympic Games in Tokyo. Coverage of the games has caused some shifts which means that fans of The Blacklist will have to wait a little longer than usual to see how the events of Season 8 unfold.

There will inevitably be people who are asking: "What time is 'The Blacklist' on tonight?"

If you're trying to stream The Blacklist, only Season 1 of the series is currently available on Peacock. It's not available on Hulu, and Netflix is currently rocking only the first seven seasons of the show.

The streaming giant reportedly inked a deal where they paid out some $2 million per episode of the series to appear on their platform, which could be a big reason why Seasons 2-7 aren't appearing on Peacock and why Hulu has been ultimately left out of the picture.

The Blacklist has been going strong for several seasons and hasn't shown any signs of stopping. James Spader's Raymond "Red" Reddington character is a fan favorite, despite the fact that the man doesn't seem very concerned with the business of acting.

In an interview with the Boston Globe Spader said: "I’ve had a lazy career."

He continued, "Sometimes one film a year, sometimes none. I’m walking around in the street and doing this other thing, living, that I’m much more interested in. I just do some acting on the side. I’m absolutely the polar opposite of that in that I work very hard when I’m working but I’m just someone who doesn’t like to act too much."

He did concede that acting was a wonderful way for him to play out his own personal dreams, saying, "You could be older than you are. You could find yourself in provocative situations with people that you would never find yourself with. That girl that you had a crush on? Suddenly, you’re married to her. Suddenly, things are intimate and provocative between the two of you. You’re sharing a drink."

Now back on Fridays, the long-running crime drama—just renewed for a 10th season—puts Cooper [Harry Lennix] and his reconstituted FBI task force on the trail of an untraceable cellular network for criminals. Red [James Spader] is otherwise engaged in trying to get his loyal accountant Heddie [Aida Turturro] out of a jam.

Is The Blacklist new tonight on NBC? If you find yourself wondering about that [and understandably so], we’ve got more info within this piece!

Unfortunately, it’s not necessarily news you’re going to be thrilled to have. After the show delivered some bombshells in episode 20 and teased more coming up, it’s decided to go on a brief, one-week hiatus. It will be back next week at a special day and time — Wednesday, June 16 at 10:00 p.m. Eastern. This will be the timeslot both for this episode [entitled “Nachalo”] and also the finale [“Konets”] set for June 23. It’s an interesting choice to move time periods for just two episodes, but perhaps NBC thinks they can get better ratings for them in this spot.

If you want to preview episode 21 now in video form, check out our latest theory discussion below! After you do that, remember to also subscribe to Matt & Jess on YouTube — we’ll have a review for this episode there after it airs, as well.

If you haven’t heard much about these two episodes, we should note first that the titles loosely translate to “The Beginning” and “The End” — it’s a sign that the writers are legitimately getting closer to resolving the mystery long at the heart of this show. Given that there is still a season 9 coming, we have to imagine that something will be left over…

Meanwhile, the synopses at least offer a few clues as to what is coming…

Season 8 episode 21, “Nachalo” – 06/16/2021 [10:00PM – 11:00PM] [Wednesday] : When Reddington takes Liz to the mysterious epicenter of his empire, their shared past reveals itself and long buried secrets are divulged. TV-14

Season 8 episode 22 [finale], “Konets” – 06/23/2021 [10:00PM – 11:00PM] [Wednesday] : Reddington makes a disturbing request to Liz in exchange for the truth about his identity. TV-14

The latter synopsis is what makes us raise an eyebrow — given everything that we’ve seen on this show already, something has to be really crazy to be labeled as “disturbing.”
