2024 Trackhawk

Jeep the company known for its capable off-road maniacs has finally made up its mind to enter theelectric vehicle market to keep up with the market trends and fulfill its promise of the Dare Forward 2030 plan. Recently, Jeep has introduced three new vehicles, namely the Jeep Avenger, the Jeep Recon, and the Jeep Wagoneer S, to kick off its "Electrification Era" and offer buyers a capable electric SUV.

Jeep will offer the Avenger compact SUV only in Europe, while the Recon and Wagoneer S will be sold in America. Unlike the compact Jeep Recon and the Jeep Avenger, the upcoming Jeep Wagoneer S is a mid-size all-electric SUV built on the SLTA Medium platform, which is designed to underpin mid-size or crossover SUVs.

With the discontinuation of the Grand Cherokee Trackhawk, Jeep is keen on offering buyers an electric SUV that possesses similar capabilities as the Hellcat engine-powered Trackhawk. Once it arrives in the United States, the Wagoneer S will strongly compete with the likes of capable European giants like the Audi E-Tron and the Mercedes-Benz EQS-Class SUV.

Jeep has equipped the Wagoneer S with a fully electric powertrain designed to offer a total output of 600 horsepower to achieve similar performance to the Trackhawk. While Jeep hasn’t disclosed any information regarding the motor specs, we expect the Wagoneer S to arrive with the 4xe all-wheel-drive system with a 125-kW [167 hp] motor powering the front wheels and a 330-kW [442 hp] high-performance rear electric motor.

Jeep also revealed that the electric powertrain will help the Wagoneer S clock 0 to 60 MPH in 3.5 seconds and will deliver a range of 400 miles on a single charge with an 87 kWh battery. Furthermore, based on Stellantis’ data, the battery will come with a fast charging facility.

Jeep will provide a regular charger as standard equipment, and a fast charger may be offered as an option. The drivetrain will also come equipped with Jeep’s all-terrain management system, front and rear locking controls with Selec-Terrain Traction Management System, performance pages, and most importantly, several drive modes.

Wagoneer S Showcases Jeep’s Contemporary Design Elements

Jeep has put some serious work into the Wagoneer S, making it the sleekest Jeep to date. The Wagoneer S looks stunning, with both the orthodox and modern elements complementing each other. The overall dimensions are expected to be similar to the Grand Cherokee, but the Wagoneer doesn’t look hefty considering it belongs in the mid-size segment. The chiseled side profile lowered hood, and flat roofline makes it look stunning and reduce the drag coefficient to optimize performance.

Digging deeper into the design, the fascia of the Wagoneer is meticulously designed, keeping both functionality and styling as priorities. Jeep has embraced its signature design elements with the iconic Seven-Slot Grille and has upgraded the grille design with brushed metal accents and an ambient LED-lit grille. The front features a lean LED strip running from one side to the other and passing through the grille to offer a distinct look. Further down, the Wagoneer features a newly designed bumper with aluminum accents to add richness and wide air dams and triangular vents to allow air to pass through the powertrain.

From the rear, the Wagoneer S is equally bolder. The gloss-black roof provides an excellent contrast with the bright colors. In addition, the thick D-pillars and the sloping roofline give it an aggressive flavor. The thin and wide tail lamps are the newest design elements incorporated into the Wagoneer S, and they excellently complement the overall design.

The most important element of the Wagoneer S’ exterior is the wing-like spoiler placed above the liftgate. The wing-like spoiler not only adds a sportier touch to the rear fascia but also helps in reducing air drag. All in all, the exterior design of the Wagoneer S is superb, and as acclaimed by Ralph Giles, the Wagoneer S justifies its "Speed, Striking And Sexy" demeanor from every perspective.

2024 Jeep Wagoneer S Promises A Deluxe Cabin

While Jeep has been scarce in terms of providing information about the Wagoneer S’ interior, they informed us that the cabin will offer "high-quality craftsmanship". Based on our speculations, the Wagoneer S’s cabin will look similar to that of the New Grand Cherokee and will offer sufficient space to the passengers. Jeep may restyle the cabin with light-colored materials and a futuristic layout to justify its modern style.

The cabin will carry plenty of creature comforts and technology. The front will feature a fully-digital instrument cluster along with a heated steering wheel and paddle shifters. The interior, as we can see, will seat five people with an admirable amount of room on offer. The interior may feature Nappa or semi-aniline leather or perforated leather seats with heated and cooled front power seats and heated rear seats.

For infotainment, the interior will perhaps offer the same 10.1-inch touchscreen and an 8-inch touchscreen on the passenger side, along with a premium surround audio system. At the rear, this SUV will offer a decent space for storage, facilitated by additional interior cargo space.

After looking at the pictures and the information released by Jeep, we expect the Wagoneer to be an ideal replacement for the Grand Cherokee. It is slick and sleek at the same time and will make things tough for its rivals.
