Dodge 2023

The current Dodge Challengers and Chargers are going away from the Brampton, Ontario, production line, and Dodge is celebrating its long-running muscle machines with signature send-off models. These special editions are based on the performance Scat Pack and Hellcat models and pay homage to legendary Mopars of yore, out-of-production models, and special concept cars. The final send-off edition will debut at the SEMA show in a month and could be the most powerful Challenger or Charger model ever produced. Prices are yet to be released, but Dodge says ordering information for the 2023 Dodge Charger and Challenger will be announced this fall.

1. 2023 Dodge Challenger Shakedown

The Dodge Challenger Shakedown celebrates the similarly named 1971 Challenger show car of the same name. This special-edition model kicked off the "Last Call" list in August and is available in Dodge Challenger R/T Scat Pack and Dodge Challenger R/T Scat Pack Widebody trims, packing the 6.4-liter Hemi V8 that makes 485 hp and 475 lb-ft of torque. Both of these special editions are capped at 500 examples each and feature special graphics, badging, and a unique grille. Naturally, the shaker hood is a staple of this special edition.

2. 2023 Dodge Charger Super Bee

The Super Bee name gets a short-lived revival with the 2023 Dodge Charger Super Bee. Like the Shakedown, this Super Bee special edition makes its way to the Charger R/T Scat Pack and Charger R/T Scat Pack Widebody. This 6.4-liter Hemi variant pays homage to the popular B-Body Mopar model of the same name. Dodge will split color availability, with the standard Scat Pack models coming in B5 Blue and the widebody variants coming in Plum Crazy. Aside from the paint, these special editions come with unique graphics, badging and drag radial tires on all four corners.

3. 2023 Dodge Charger Swinger

Named after the Dodge Dart’s fun Swinger package, this ‘60s throwback adds a dash of Dodge history to its Charger Scat Pack Widebody. Limited to 1000 examples, these 6.4-liter Hemi Charger Swinger models will feature special graphics, Swinger interior badging, and Gold School 20-inch wheels. Dodge will unleash this Charger in F8 Green, Sublime Green, and White Knuckle finishes.

4. 2023 Dodge Challenger Swinger

Launched together, these two Swinger models basically share, well, everything. Dodge is also building this Challenger Swinger on the bones of the Challenger R/T Scat Pack Widebody model with the same production limit of 1000 units. The wheels, badging, and finish options are the same as the Charger.

5. 2023 Dodge Charger King Daytona

While the previous models pay homage to a popular Dart model, the fifth of Dodge’s "Last Call" models puts a crown on a drag racing legend. The Dodge Charger King Daytona borrows its name from “Big Willie” Robinson’s 1969 Dodge Charger Daytona. While this tribute edition lacks the massive wing, aerodynamic nose, and movie credits, this is the first of the "Last Call" models to dip into the Hellcat pool.

This Charger King Daytona is based on the Dodge Charger Hellcat Redeye, which means it packs a supercharged 6.2-liter V8 under the hood that makes 807 hp in this trim. The package also comes with King Daytona graphics and orange accent stitching on the interior. Finished exclusively in Go Mango, Dodge will only build 300 of these Dodge Charger King Daytona models.

6. 2023 Dodge Charger Black Ghost

The last of the mainline "Last Call" models, Dodge celebrates the legendary Black Ghost. For the unfamiliar, the Black Ghost was a 1970 Dodge Challenger R/T SE that packed a 426 CID Hemi V8 under the hood and was backed by a four-speed transmission. This car was rare enough as born, but it became a legend on the streets of Detroit racing stoplight to stoplight.

Its 2023 counterpart borrows some of its iconic features like graphics on the top to mimic the Gator Grain vinyl roof of the original and the white bumblebee stripes at the car’s rear. Like the previous special edition, Dodge is building the 2023 Challenger Black Ghost models off of the potent Hellcat Redeye platform. Dodge is capping production at 300 examples.

Honorable Mention: 2023 Chrysler 300C

It might not be a huge shock, but the Dodge Charger's upscale platform mate is also seeing the end of the line in Brampton. Sending off the Chrysler 300 sedan, the folks at Chrysler are bringing the 6.4-liter-powered 300C back for a curtain call. Capped at 2000 examples, these 2023 Chrysler 300C models will send the storied nameplate away with a nod to the model's history.
