How to be a top fan on spotify năm 2024

Nearly two years ago, Facebook began offering Top Fan badges to users who most interacted with their favorite pages on the platform. Now, Spotify is awarding artists’ most dedicated fans by naming them Top Fans, as well.

Over the past week, Spotify has been sending out notifications to users and telling them that they are in the top 1-3% of fans for a certain artist. Like Facebook, the only way to receive a notification/email that you’re a Top Fan is… to be a Top Fan.

These designations are based entirely on data, so if you want that digital badge of honor, get streaming.

spotify has not named me a "top fan" of any artist, proving yet again that no algorithm will ever TRULY know me like my best friends, my family, and God. relieved that spotify has not notified me of being in any artists’ top 1% fanbase. i would hate to be associated with listening to a musical artist or being a fan of anything for that matter — umru ⌕ blm/abolish🐷 (@umru_) February 26, 2020
everyone’s posting about who they’re a top fan of and I’ve opened @Spotify so many times to see who I was a top fan of and it hasn’t popped up on my screen yet so I guess I’m not anyone’s top fan 🙁

Music fans who use Spotify are constantly given facts about their choices, from how many hours they listened to one artist to who they stream the most.

And the company has just launched a new statistical tool for its users called Today’s Top Fans.

But what is it and how does it work?

What is Today’s Top Fans?

Today’s Top Fans is a new feature by Spotify which lets users find out their most streamed artist and songs.

Whether it’s seven continuous streamed hours of Ariana Grande or what percent super fan you are based on their listening habits for your top artist, this gives music fans this knowledge at their fingertips.

It’s a slightly updated version of 2020’s Top 1 per cent of Fans feature, and Spotify said it “provides a definitive way to prove you listen to these artists more than any other fan. This isn’t a measure of how early on you’ve been listening to an artist. It’s a measure of how many times you have streamed an artist’s song on Spotify”.

How does it work?

Users need to log on to todaystopfans.byspotify.com where they can access it on their computers and mobile phones.

Once logged in, users can see the stats for their most played artist by swiping across.

They can then scroll through all their stats including:

The most listened to artist When they first listened to them Their top three songs of their most listened to artist How many times they have played their favourite song

It also tells users how many hours they have spent listening to that artist and what percentage of the top fans of that artist you are in.

Spotify has a new feature where you can find out whether you are ‘Today’s Top Fan’ – here’s how to get it.

The streaming platform loves to reveal statistics to their users.

The site recently unveiled its ‘My Unique Pair’ feature which allowed listeners to see which unique pairing of artists or groups they have listened to together recently.

Now, they have come forward with ‘Today’s Top Fan’ – here’s what you need to know about it and how to find it.

What is Spotify’s Top Fan?

The streaming platform has come up with a new and interactive feature where you will find your favourite artist.

‘Today’s Top Fan’ is designed to reveal which musician you have listened to the most, their top three songs you have streamed and how many hours in total you have listened to them.

A number of users have complained that the new feature doesn’t show the correct results.

Some have claimed that their result doesn’t reveal their favourite artists.

In response, Spotify tweeted to one person: “We’ll be sure to let the right folks know about this. We’re always aiming to improve our features, so we hope you’ll continue to use it and find it gets better in the future. If you need anything else in the meantime, just shout and we’ll come running.”

How does Spotify determine top fans?

The way that Spotify calculates if you're in an artist's top percent hasn't ever really been fully disclosed, but it's safe to assume that the app takes into account a variety of factors when judging, including both total time spent listening and the number of songs played.

What does it take to be a top listener on Spotify?

Spotify didn't provide comprehensive data. Our analysis showed that you would have needed over 6,000 minutes of listening to get into the top 1%. Nearly 10,000 minutes and you'd be in the top 0.5%. As shown in the chart above, ranking got steeper after that.

Is it possible to be someone's top listener on Spotify?

It's unclear what exact criteria you need to get into the upper echelons of the Top 1%, Top 0.5% or Top 0.1% or even Top 0.005% but it's probably earned by listening to a certain artist non-stop for the 10 months. It's also likely based on the total minutes you spent listening to your Top Artist.

How does Spotify determine fans first?

Spotify sends out what are called 'Fans First' emails to users who are top fans of a musical artist or band, based on their listening activity and streaming frequency. Those who follow the artist's official Spotify page can receive these messages as well.
