HP laptop stuck on blue loading screen

I started with an "automatic repair" by pressing F11 but it didn't do anything useful, i wanted to repair startup using advanced troubleshooting page [accessed by F11] but it required a password for "HP user which is the user-name but I'm already on a local HP account so there's no password & i don't know what kind of password it refers to

So what should i do?!!! I'm very nervous, idk if i can start it again or not

The thing i did before the problem started was uninstalling the Realtek Bluetooth 4.0 adapter & forcing windows to reinstall it upon boot & i also installed a legacy device using computer management using a wizard built-in & it was "Microsoft Hyper - V network adapter" based on a forum, after that i got a blue error screen " your pc ran into a problem" & here am i now after it finsished the blue screen it restarted then stuck on a loading screen

A single computer issue can be caused by different parts of the computer. A computer that isn’t booting up properly can be pretty tricky to get out of, and can also be due to a range of issues. Here’s how to repair a HP laptop or desktop computer that won’t boot up.

Causes of computer failure to boot up

When your laptop or desktop computer is not booting up to Windows, this is a sign that the startup process is disrupted. You might have a hardware problem with parts that are essential for this process. Hardware failure that could be behind your problem could include: hard drive, motherboard, RAM, or video card failure.

Symptoms of HP computer boot up issues

  • Computer does turn on, but only to a black screen and doesn’t boot to Windows
  • Computer turns on and hangs on the HP splash screen
  • Turns on to a loading screen and never finishes loading
  • Error messages on a black screen [Inaccessible boot device, SMART failure detected on hard disk]
  • Error messages on a blue screen and then restarts itself

How to fix an HP laptop or desktop computer that won’t boot up

Even if we do have some idea of related hardware issues, it could be a good idea to first resolve some possible software issues. Software issues may be clogging up your system, and can cause trouble with normal Windows startup.

You can try restarting and resetting your HP computer to refresh and resolve software bugs that you may have. Then we can move on to diagnosing and repairing hardware issues.

Performing a hard reboot

With a computer that is stuck while booting up, the only thing you can do with it is a hard reboot to try to turn it on again. To do this, hold down the power button until the computer shuts down completely. After a few moments, turn on the computer again like normal.

A hard reboot is the process of manually restarting a computer by physically turning it on and off. It differs from the normal way that involves the operating system power controls. This lets you start your computer when the operating system or other apps are not responding. You can hard reboot your computer when it is freezing up, but under normal circumstances this is not the safest way to turn off your computer. You could create software issues with your hard drive.

Reinstalling Windows

Resetting your HP computer and reinstalling the OS could also be a great way to resolve software issues. Just hold down the Esc key after restarting the computer to reach the startup menu, then F11 for System Recovery options. You can then choose to reset your computer there.

Diagnose hardware issues

As we’ve learnt from above, testing the parts required for a computer to start up properly can be very helpful. Even if you can get your HP computer to boot up after restarting or resetting it, the problem won’t go away that easily and could possibly happen again. So it wouldn’t hurt to run diagnostics and see what’s causing these startup issues.

Using the HP startup menu again, hold down the Esc key during boot up and then choose F2 to enter System Diagnostics. This is a general hardware diagnostic test that you can use to check on the status of hardware across your computer, like the hard drive, RAM, and video card.

As a built-in tool, boot diagnostics is only a broad examination on your computer’s hardware. It may be able to get you some conclusive results about what might be wrong with your computer. But just to be sure, it could also be a good idea to run some more in-depth tests on each specific part.

I have a HP 2000 notebook pc. I just upgraded to Windows 8.1 and after many auto updates I turn on computer to see a black screen with the HP logo and a spinning cursor. I tried the f11 , key but no luck. Gives me an error about sudden error or restart and Windows could not be installed. Please help!!

I am at a loss. I mean it could be malware, viruses, hard drive failure or something else. I would suggest waiting until you return home, however, to do anything at all with it. You don't need it to become completely unrecoverable while you are away. Side note: If that device is under warranty, they shouldn't be charging you for a fix, unless of course it is out of warranty.

If anyone else has any suggestions, please speak up.

Note: If this problem started after an update [or system reinstall], please make sure the laptop is not connected to the internet in any way before you use the following instructions. Try the following... 1. Power off the laptop. 2. Power on the laptop. 3. As soon as you see the rotating loading circle, press and hold the Power Button until the computer shuts off. 4. Repeat this process a few times until you see the "Preparing Automatic Repair" screen. 5. Now you want to let the laptop boot to the "Automatic Repair" screen. 6. Click "Advanced Options" and then select "Troubleshoot". 7. Here you want to select "Refresh your PC", if you do not wish to erase data, or "Reset your PC" to erase all data and restore your system. 8. From here just follow the screen instructions until the recovery is completed. NOTE: You will need to get into the "Advanced Options" in order to get the "Refresh Option". This choice will keep your data, but any programs installed will be lost. Do not do a "Reset" as that will wipe all data you have on the laptop. Another version of this is the following... 1. Power off the laptop. 2. Power on the laptop. 3. When screen turns black, hit F10 and ALT repeatedly until the computer shuts off. 4. You shouTo fix the computer you should choose the second option listed. 5. When the next screen loads, choose the option "Reset Device". 6. Now choose which ever type of reset you wish. 7. Your coputer should now restore itself to "Factory Settings". NOTE: If you get a message saying "Error Resetting Device", then you should have the computer looked at by the manufacturer [if still under warranty] or by a tech.

Neither of these two methods acted the way they should. Upon trying the second method I got to an edit boot menu Which on the final line said NoExecute=optin/novga

What does this mean and can I do anything with this option

Besides the update to 8.1, what else was done to the computer? Any other changes to anything? IT makes me curious, because that error I have seen happen with 10 but not 8.1. It sounds to me like you may need to remove the changes and restore it to the original system.
