Nyx hd photogenic concealer wand review năm 2024

Hey guys! Today I want to talk about the . This can be purchased at ULTA and nyxcosmetics.com for $4.99.

I’ve been on the fence for quite some time about trying this, but I was in ULTA the other night and it was on sale so I figured “now is as good a time as any!” They were buy one, get one 50% off, so of course I grabbed two, one in Porcelain, and one in Fair, because I wasn’t sure which shade would match me better and I figured whichever one was too light I could just use to highlight with.

This concealer is pretty widely talked about all over YouTube and the internet, so once I decided to jump in and try it, I was super excited. Like, ran home, ripped open the tube and slapped it all over my face excited. We’ll get to the whole review part in just a minute, but here’s what NYX has to say about this product on their website :

This lightweight cover-up obscures imperfections discoloration and under eye circles without ever looking cakey or obvious. Little wonder the HD Photogenic Concealer Wand is one of our best-sellers. The concentrated emollient-rich formula goes on like a dream and creates medium to heavy coverage. Use the lavender for sallow skin the green to reduce the appearance of redness and the yellow for under-eye darkness.

This concealer comes in 11 shades, including three corrector shades. Let’s get into the review!

PACKAGING

This concealer comes in your standard clear tube with a black top, and a doe foot applicator. The applicator itself doesn’t dispense much product, with can be a pro or con depending on your needs. I, personally, don’t like to have to keep dipping my applicator back in the tube to get enough product to cover my under eye area, but if you’re using this to cover blemishes, you could probably get enough product with just one “dip”.

FORMULA

As stated above, this is a lightweight, liquid concealer. It’s quite pigmented, with roughly medium to full coverage. It dries down to an almost powdery, satin-matte finish, and sets rather quickly.

APPLICATION & WEAR

So I wanted to put this to the test for both my under eye area and blemishes/redness/acne scarring.

On the under eye area, I applied it in a V shape, as if I were highlighting – down the side of my nose, under the lower lash line, and blended outward and upward. I blended it out on one side with a damp sponge (the Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge to be precise), and the other side with a concealer brush. With the sponge, it seemed to blend just ok, but you could clearly see where the sponge deposited a harsher line of concealer. It sheered it out, as it is meant to do, but it’s almost like it soaked up too much, which I’ve never had happen with a damp sponge.

When I blended it out with a concealer brush (my e.l.f. Flawless Concealer Brush to be exact) I noticed I got much fuller coverage, which I anticipated. But along with that came a certain dryness. Like I had flesh colored scales under my eyes. I was sure to moisturize before application so I’m not sure what went wrong here. Additionally, with either method of application, I noticed that it settled in to my fine lines immediately, but as long as I dabbed over it with either my finger or a damp sponge and immediately set it with a translucent loose powder, it seemed to stay put.

Not the best photo, but you can still see my dark circles and lots of creasing, even after setting with powder.

Since it obviously wasn’t working well for me with the sponge under my eyes, I decided to forego that method of application and jump right to the brush when it came to concealing other areas of my face. I used it in the center of my forehead, down the bridge of my nose, on the sides of my nose, and on some blemish marks on either side of my chin. Now I will say it covers pretty well, a solid medium coverage with the first application. I didn’t have to build it up, as I was content with the coverage I got from one application. Again it dried to a powdery, satin-matte finish, and while I did set it with a powder just as I did with my under eye area, I haven’t seen it budge yet. And it’s been roughly 6 hours. I have no shine in those areas, which is unusual for me, so I’m confident that this could last all day with no touchups. And as you may have guessed from the name, it does photograph quite nicely. I don’t see the usual texture in my skin nearly as much as I do with some of my other concealers – in photographs, that is – if you look up close you can see it settle into and almost accentuate my pores, which I didn’t really love.

As you can see it photographs well, blurring imperfections, however up close it seemed to just sit on top of the skin

Ok, so it’s obvious that I have mixed feelings about this product. I like it for concealing redness and blemishes on my face, but I downright HATE it for the under eye area. With that being said, I did end up returning it – I prefer a concealer that I can use on more than just one area of my face, and this just wasn’t it for me. Maybe I’ll try their ‘Concealer In A Jar’ next – I hear that it’s totally full coverage and much creamier in consistency.
