The Ford Ranger is a leading choice for the midsize pickup truck segment — and with a thorough redesign for the
2023 model year, the Ranger gets even better. The all-new 2023 Ford Ranger made its global debut today. Find out what we know so far about its release date, price, and specs. In June 2022, Ford Authority stated that, per a source, 2023 Ford Ranger orders would open on July 18, 2022. For international markets, Ford will release the next-generation Ranger sooner and brand it as a 2022 Ranger. Production of the redesigned Ranger at Ford’s manufacturing plants in South Africa and
Thailand began in May 2022, per autoevolution. Ford has not yet released the price information for the 2023 Ranger. However, with the redesign and upgrades, you can expect the model to be more than the 2022 Ranger. The
2022 Ranger starts at $25,285 MSRP for the Super Cab models and $27,685 MSRP for the SuperCrew models. The 2023 Ford Ranger will likely continue using the turbocharged 2.3-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder engine
and 10-speed automatic transmission that’s in the 2022 Ranger. Output for the turbo 2.3-liter engine is 270 hp and 310 lb-ft of torque. Diesel engine options and a manual transmission will be available on the global version of the Ranger. However, these options are unlikely to be offered in the U.S. The towing capacity for the 2023 Ranger will likely be the same as the 2022 Ranger, which has a maximum
towing capacity of 7,500 pounds. On the off-roading front, a Ranger Raptor model is expected to have the same twin-turbo 2.7-liter V6 engine that’s in the Ford Bronco. The redesigned 2023 Ford Ranger looks like a larger version of
the Ford Maverick compact pickup truck. It has similar bold wheel arches and C-shaped LED headlights as the Maverick, with an added side step behind the wheel arches. Also, compared to the 2022 Ranger, the redesigned 2023 Ranger is slightly larger, with a 2-inch increase for both the wheelbase and track width. This size increase should improve the ride quality
of the Ranger. RELATED: How Much Does a Fully Loaded 2022 Ford F-150 Cost? The aging interior and infotainment system of the 2022 Ranger is in need
of an upgrade, so the redesigned interior of the 2023 Ranger is a welcome improvement. The 2023 Ranger will have a choice of a standard 10.1-inch touchscreen or an optional vertically-orientated 12.0-inch version. Both of the touchscreens will operate the SYNC 4 infotainment system, which can control drive modes and display off-road modes. Also, the 2023 Ranger will offer an available wireless charging pad for smartphones. Furthermore, the redesigned Ranger adds more cargo space
under the rear seats and in the doors. With the redesign and upgrades, the 2023 Ranger should be a more competitive model against other midsize trucks, such as the Toyota Tacoma, Chevy Colorado, and Nissan Frontier.
