I’m sure you already use at least one social media platform such as Facebook, Google Pus, Zalo,… Do you find it more advantageous or more disadvantageous? Let’s take a look at some pros and cons of social networking.

On one hand, social networks bring about lots of advantages. First and for most, they are the fastest nad most convenient way people communicate nowadays. People no longer need to write or send letter and wait for a long time before receiving the responses. They just need a smartphone, a tablet or a laptop that is connected to Internet to talk face to face with the others even when they live far from each other. Another huge advantage of social networks is that they are a way to spread beautiful messages. For example, when there is someone meeting difficulties, people can post the information on facebook or zalo to raise fund. Thanks to social platforms, there are many disable are helped and many people living in poverty can be supported. Besides, social networks help the firms and corporations advertise their products and buy them online, which raise their revenue dramatically. Students use social platform to share study tips and help each other in learning.

On the other hands, social media has several drawbacks. The most negative effect is that people, especially young people, get addicted to social networking. They spend even more than 4 hours a day to check their social network, which waste an amount of their time. Nowadays, you can easily see the young people on the streets staring at their smartphone to use facebook or viber or snapchat,… Furthermore, even primary children now use facebook, which affect badly on their awareness. Another problem concerning with social media is the invasion of privacy. When you log in, you must provide your private information. Although the social network owners commit not to reveal your profile but the hackers can take it from them any when they can. Furthermore, some people use social networks for bad purpose such as offense some one or spread wrong information.

In conclusion, social network is beneficial when you make use of it.  I suggest that you take responsibility for what you do and protect your privacy. Be careful with what you post and treat others as if you were in a face-to-face situation.

Một mặt, mạng xã hội mang lại rất nhiều lợi thế. Đầu tiên, chúng là cách thuận tiện nhất để giao tiếp hiện nay. Mọi người không còn cần phải viết hoặc gửi thư và chờ một thời gian dài trước khi nhận được phản hồi. Họ chỉ cần một điện thoại thông minh, một máy tính bảng hoặc một máy tính xách tay được kết nối với Internet để nói chuyện mặt đối mặt với những người khác ngay cả khi họ sống xa nhau. Một lợi thế rất lớn của các mạng xã hội là chúng được coi như là một cách để truyền bá những thông điệp đẹp. Ví dụ, khi có ai đó gặp khó khăn, mọi người có thể đăng thông tin trên facebook hoặc zalo để gây quỹ. Nhờ có các mạng xã hội, có rất nhiều người khuyết tật và nhiều người sống trong nghèo đói có thể được hỗ trợ. Bên cạnh đó, các mạng xã hội giúp các công ty và tập đoàn quảng cáo sản phẩm của họ và mua chúng trực tuyến, giúp tăng doanh thu đáng kể. Học sinh sử dụng mạng xã hội để chia sẻ các mẹo và giúp đỡ lẫn nhau trong học tập.

Mặt khác, phương tiện truyền thông xã hội có một số nhược điểm. Tác động tiêu cực nhất là mọi người, đặc biệt là những người trẻ tuổi, bị nghiện mạng xã hội. Họ dành nhiều hơn 4 giờ để kiểm tra các mạng xã hội của họ, điều này lãng phí một lượng thời gian của họ. Ngày nay, bạn có thể dễ dàng nhìn thấy những người trẻ tuổi trên đường phố nhìn chằm chằm vào điện thoại thông minh của họ để sử dụng facebook hoặc viber hoặc snapchat, ... Hơn nữa, ngay cả những đứa trẻ cúng sử dụng facebook, điều làm ảnh hưởng xấu đến nhận thức của chúng. Một vấn đề khác với mạng xã hội là sự xâm phạm sự riêng tư. Khi bạn đăng nhập, bạn sẽ cần cung cấp thông tin cá nhân của mình. Mặc dù các chủ sở hữu mạng xã hội cam kết không tiết lộ hồ sơ của bạn nhưng các tin tặc có thể lấy nó từ họ bất cứ khi nào họ có thể. Hơn nữa, một số người sử dụng các mạng xã hội cho các mục đích xấu như xúc phạm một ai đó, hoặc truyền bá thông tin sai lệch.

Kết luận, mạng xã hội sẽ có lợi khi bạn tận dụng nó. Tôi cho rằng bạn nên chịu trách nhiệm về những gì bạn làm và bảo vệ sự riêng tư của bạn. Hãy cẩn thận với những gì bạn đăng và đối xử với những người khác như thể bạn đang gặp phải tình huống mặt đối mặt.
