How do you check your spellings in MS Word?There are three ways you can check your spellings in Microsoft Word. Two of these options involved using MS Office spell check tools: Automatic spell check and Manual spell check. The other option involved using a third-party add-on, like Grammarly. With the automatic spell check, Word spy for any potential spelling error as you type your document. But the manual spell checker, upon a click on a button, will allow you to scan the entire document for any spelling and grammar errors, with suggestions to correct them. The Grammarly add-on does basically the same thing, but with advanced features included. Without further ado, let’s look at these options one after the other. Automatic spell check in wordBy default, Microsoft Word checks for spelling errors as you type your document. When you mistype a word, MS Word will underline the mistyped word with a red zigzag line. This red zigzag line indicates that the word is not spelled correctly. If you right-click on the underlined word, MS Word will suggest some few words for you to correct the spelling mistake. Clicking on one of the suggested words will replace the misspelled word. If your copy of MS Word is already working this way, then your automatic spell check feature is up and running. However, if you can’t see any red zigzag line under your misspelled words, then you’ll have to turn this automatic spell check feature on. If you want to know whether this automatic spell check is working or not, intentionally type a word wrongly and see whether it gets underlined with a red zigzag line. NOTE: You can hide the spelling errors for only the document you are working with so that word will not underline the misspelled words in that document only. To that, in the Exceptions for: drop down, select Check spelling in Word, then select the checkbox labeled Hide spelling errors in this document only and click on OK. To do that, follow the steps below:
