I decided to put this quick wax against other quick waxes that I have. What I did was use the factory hood that I have off my Grand Prix. It was my test panel as I was also toying around with the new Rupes LHR15 Mark II that I just received.

I polished the hood with some Ameridepth polish to remove anything I had on it. Followed that up with a couple of IPA wipedowns. Taped off sections of the hood.

You can see which products I used and which sections they were applied to.

This is not a longevity test but rather a performance test to see how each product behaves.

From left to right we have

-HD Express -303 Quick Wax -Meguiar's D156 -Blackfire Spray Wax

I applied each one with 3 sprays of product onto a microfiber and applied it onto the section. Buffed each one after application.

HD Express is the thickest product in terms of consistency. 303 has a consistency of in the middle between D156 and Blackfire.

303 has a nice scent to it. As I was applying 303 to it's section, I noticed that it had a rainbow effect onto the paint as it was flashing. None of the other products exhibited that behavior. It also took the longest to flash. I did not find it difficult to buff off.

In terms of slickness, 303 was not slick at all. I had another microfiber on hand to see how slick each area was. The towel dragged on the 303 area. With the bare hand I felt no slickness to it. Felt like unprotected paint.

In terms of slickness I would rate these the following (starting with the slickest first):

1. D156 2. HD Express 3: Blackfire 4. 303

HD Express and Blackfire were so close in terms of slickness.

All the above was done on Saturday. I left the hood outside as there was rain on Sunday. I wanted to see how 303 performed with water on it.

Beading doesn't look as nice and sheeting was ok.

D156

Blackfire

Nice beading and sheeting

Overall I was not impressed with this product. It does not have any slickness to it at all. It's beading and sheeting is not that impressive to me. I had no issues buffing it off in that small area. Scent was good.

I don't like to say it but I would not recommend this.

Quick Wax products "sheeting" water.

However, IMO: It would be nice—really nice—to have LSPs that actually were (inherently) both hydrophobic and hydroscopic...at the same.

Not going to disagree that a dedicated LSP is going to offer more hydrophobic properties. Nor am I saying that these should be used as an LSP replacement.

I am not the first person to give this product a negative review as seen here. We shall see what the other winners say when they get their products.

303 Quick Wax

I feel it under performed at least with this 303 product. The others have been great. The 303 speed detailer offers more slickness than the quick wax.

In regards to sheeting there appears to be some going on. Yes gravity plays a factor with the angle the water flows on the angles of this hood.

Which is better quick wax or quick detailer?

Spray detailers and spray waxes are very different: Don't confuse a spray wax for a quick detailing spray. Spray wax products include, well, wax, and it's not the best thing to use on a slightly dirty car. Spray detailers are formulated to work on slightly dirty cars with dust and debris.

Spray wax does not offer as long-lasting protection as paste wax or liquid wax but can still last for a few weeks or up to a month. For best results re-apply regularly.
