Eucerin A.I matt Fluid vs A.I. Treatment

Eucerin has been avidly in promoting their Pro ACNE line using influencers all over Instagram. As someone who’s been facing acne issues from wearing a mask, I got tempted and eventually gave in to try how good it is. Eucerin actually created a step-by-step skin regime for their Pro ACNE line which you can mix and match the best suited products to use based on your skin type.

I love how clear Eucerin states down the steps on when to use which product and for what purpose because not all skin concerns may suit the full regime. I bought the A.I. Matt Fluid and Clearing Treatment as it was promoted to be suitable for normal acne-prone skin which is my current skin concern.

Eucerin’s Pro ACNE Solution A.I. Matte Fluid effectively counteracts pimples and blackheads and helps to control demanding blemish and acne-prone skin in the long term. The mattifying fluid contains:

🌼 Salicylic Acid – to help reduce blemishes and prevent them from reappearing

🌼 Licochalcone A – to soothe skin irritation, inflammation and redness

🌼 Sebum-regulating technology – reduces sebum production

🌼 Mattifying particles – to provide an 8 hour anti-shine effect without clogging the pores

Eucerin’s Pro ACNE Solution A.I Clearing Treatment is more to an acid peel type treatment and has been specially formulated to reduce the appearance of pimples as well as to fade acne marks. It is suitable for all mild to moderate forms of acne and has a triple effect, containing:

🌼 10% Hydroxy Complex (Glycolic Acid, Salicylic Acid and Polyhydroxy Acid) – to help resurface skin, unclog pores, reduce bacteria, remove dead skin cells and prevent new blemishes from appearing

🌼 Licochalcone A – to reduce inflammation and help soothe irritation

Eucerin’s Pro ACNE Solution line claims to be able to visibly improve skin after just one week, revealing clearer and smoother-looking skin over time.

My review:

I’m not sure why the A.I. Matt Fluid is called a fluid when the product is not at all liquidy 😂 I use the A.I Matt Fluid as my morning moisturizer and the A.I Clearing Treatment as an acne treatment at night to focus on my acne marks. I really love the scent of both, they both smell and look very similar and not at all like a typical acne product where it’s often very medicated smelling. However, I’m not sure if the added parfum in the ingredients were necessary as parfum may be irritant to sensitive skin people (me, although my skin reacted fine with this).

While both smell and look very similar, the A.I. Matt Fluid is slightly darker in colour and appears matte on the skin. I really like that the matte effect appears like an oil-free skin rather than powdery matte effect. My skin managed to stay oil-free throughout the day and it glides very well, so I don’t have to use a lot on every application. The A.I. Clearing Treatment on the other hand has a slightly oilier consistency and it’s also more acidic on the skin. I tried applying it on a fresh scar once and I could feel the tingling burning sensation, resembling a chemical exfoliator. I don’t mind the sensation because I kind of like the feeling of being able to feel that your skincare is taking effect 😂

Notice smoother skin and lighter acne marks

I tried using both products day and night for a week to see if there were significant differences and to my surprise, my scars lightened a lot faster than before. I really liked that I didn’t end up with a scab that I’d have to pick out which would leave a scar on my face if I pick it out too early. I always have this issue with acne focused treatment products as they’d often be too strong and would burn my acne instead of healing it.

I’ve been using Eucerin’s Pro Acne Solution A.I. Matt Fluid and Clearing Treatment for a month now and I haven’t had reappearances of acne at the same spot. There were some fresh ones but they have all been quite controlled, small in size and would gradually flatten itself. Overall, I’m really satisfied with the results and I’m looking forward to seeing the end result after finishing both products.
