Most of us use Windows 10/11 settings app to access user accounts on our computers. But it doesn’t really offer us detailed information about the users and groups on your PC. And if you want to get detailed information, you need to use the LUGMC or Local Uses and Group Management Console. So the question is, how to access local users and groups in Windows 11/10

What is lusrmgr.msc?

The Local Users and Groups management console knew as the lusrmgr.msc is a program that lets you manage local users and groups in Windows. The program exists from Windows 2000, and it is available on all Windows versions since then.

There are a couple of ways to launch lusrmgr.msc in Windows 10. For instance, you can use the Windows 10 or Windows 11 search option, access it using RUN, and a few other methods. And in this article, I am going to have a look at the following methods:

1] Use the search option

Search option is the straightforward way to access Local Users and Groups in Windows 10 Home. All you have to do is click on the Windows 10 search bar, type down Computer management and launch it from there.

2] Use Run Prompt

  • At first, press Windows key + R to launch the RUN box.
  • Type down lusrmgr.msc and press enter.
  • And then, it will launch Local Users and Groups on your Windows machine.

3] Using Computer Management

  • At first, press Windows key + X, and a new menu will appear on your screen.
  • From there, click on Computer Management.
  • Now from the left side menu, click on Local Users and Groups.

4] Use command prompt or CMD

  • Go to the Windows 10 search bar.
  • Type down CMD and click to launch when it appears.
  • Then type down lusrmgr and press enter to launch Computer Management.
  • Click on Local Users and Groups from the left side menu.

5] Using Windows PowerShell

  • At first, go to the Windows search bar.
  • Search and launch Windows PowerShell.
  • Then type lusrmgr and press Enter.

Type "netplwiz" and press Enter key on the keyboard..
Double click on the user name..
Go to "Group membership" tab..
Change to administrator account..
Click on OK..
