Seems like Autodesk is leaving Maya behind and focusing more on 3ds Max, even Max itself isn't perfect, still has terrible General & Viewport performance compared to Maya and like 90% of tools/modifiers likely wasn't updated since 90's. Show It's also funny how Maya and Max got same Preprocess Mesh option in the Retopology tool but Maya's version is significantly inferior and Max in general got way more cool stuff added. It's like Autodesk is trying to say that Maya is for Animation/Rigging and 3ds Max is for everything else including Animation/Rigging. If you have plug-ins or scripts written in Python 3.7, you may encounter issues when porting them to Python 3.9 as code compatibility is not guaranteed between these two versions.
