• View your payment history: You can view your payment history from the billing section of your ad account. Choose the date range and view the transaction history. You can also download individual transactions using its ID and get details about

  1. Amount paid 

  2. Date of payment,

  3. Payment method charged, and 

  4. The ads on which you spent money

• See if you reached your payment threshold or monthly bill date: Once you have your ads receipt, you can review the Billing Reason. You can then identify whether it was because:

  1. You reached your payment threshold, or

  2. It was your monthly billing date

Facebook can charge you multiple times in a month or even after you stopped running ads because when you create ads on Facebook (like boosting posts from your Page), you don’t pay for them right away. Billing happens as people see your ad, but you are charged later for it.  So you need to verify it.

• Check your daily budget or lifetime budget: If you planned for a daily budget but set up a lifetime budget or vice-versa, then you may be billed differently than expected.

• Check for other spenders on your account: In case you share your ad account or payment method with others, check with them if you can’t figure out the reason for the charge.
