Hello! My friend and I have been going crazy trying to find the origin or whatever of a sample used in multiple kpop songs/performances, hoping maybe someone here can help? It's the trumpet sample used in;

Maknae on top - IN, Stray Kids (for instance during the intro, but used a lot in the song)

Tired - MONT (during the intro here too)

Airplane pt2 performance MAMA 2018 - BTS (about 0:50 in, starts during Yoongi's and Hobi's part)

There are more songs we have heard with the trumpet sample, but can't find links/remember the names of the songs. Can someone help with this????

Unless it's a sample, this is literally the exact same instrument just in a different key. Also the structure is basically identical

It's a sample for sure. I've heard the song before and it's not from Kpop. Can't remember what tho.

They're all based on salsa music. Pete Rodriguez's I Like It I Like It is the "mother song".

The trumpet thing is based on Santana's Smooth, also inspired by Pete's song.

So yeah, both songs are sampled.
