Who is going to win the Super Bowl 2023

Week 9 of the 2022 NFL season brought plenty of shockers, including the Buffalo Bills slipping up against the New York Jets. It was one of Josh Allen’s worst performances this season and marks Buffalo’s second loss in the division. The Bills remain the favorites to win the Super Bowl at +250 but this was a sign of some potential weaknesses.

The Green Bay Packers not only lost their Week 9 game to the Detroit Lions but also saw Aaron Jones and Romeo Doubs suffer injuries. We’ll see if both can get back on the field in Week 10 but there’s little relief in sight for Green Bay. The Packers are now on a five-game skid heading into a pivotal showdown with the Dallas Cowboys. Speaking of the Cowboys, they should be getting healthy after a bye week and will look to make another statement in Week 10.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers might be the most intriguing teams from an odds standpoint. Tom Brady’s crew is sitting at +2500 after a rally over the defending champions Los Angeles Rams, showing there could some signs of life with this team. Counting Brady out is a fool’s errand, and maybe he’ll regain some focus after a few tough weeks off the field.

The Philadelphia Eagles, Baltimore Ravens and San Francisco 49ers all remain in the mix as title contenders. The Ravens play Monday and the 49ers had a bye, while the Eagles took care of the Houston Texans with minimal issues.

Here’s a full list of Super Bowl 57 odds heading into Week 10, and how they compare with last week and Week 1. All odds are courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook.

Are the Kansas City Chiefs poised to become the Super Bowl favorites? We take a look at the NFL odds and provide our top picks and predictions for the 2023 Super Bowl.

In the Super Bowl futures market, the Buffalo Bills have topped the odds board for several weeks, but are they about to give up that position to the Chiefs? Josh Allen's injury news has already caused the sportsbooks to adjust their odds in case he is out for an extended period of time. Where have we seen the biggest adjustments?

When placing futures bets, one must always consider two factors: will this team actually win the market? And are the odds only going to become shorter from here on out, relative to the early number? If the answer to both is yes, you should consider investing in that team.

Below we examine the 2023 Super Bowl odds and where the value can be found ahead of Week 10 of the NFL season.

Super Bowl Best Bets

  • Tampa Bay Buccaneers (+1200 via Caesars Sportsbook) - October 12

Super Bowl Picks: Favorites

Bills (+325 via PointsBet)

Who is going to win the Super Bowl 2023

The Bills' Super Bowl odds have increased from +230 to +325 following their Week 9 loss to the New York Jets. I believe the real reason behind the move is Allen's elbow injury, not the loss.

It is impossible to place a bet on the Bills' Super Bowl odds without having more information about Allen's elbow injury. As a result of the injury to Allen, you should take a closer look at this market and prepare yourself to pounce on another team if it is announced that Allen will miss a significant period of time.

Eagles (+500 via FanDuel Sportsbook)

There's no end in sight for the Philadelphia Eagles' Super Bowl odds, as the price keeps getting shorter. The Eagles now have a best price of +500 via FanDuel after trading at +4000 during the offseason.

Considering that the Eagles' schedule is so easy and they are on track to gain a first-round bye and home-field advantage in the playoffs, it wouldn't surprise me if the Eagles traded at +400 in the near future.

Chiefs (+550 via Caesars)

I do not believe that the Chiefs' Super Bowl odds moved from +700 to +550 due to their victory over the Tennessee Titans in Week 9. Once again, I think you are seeing a team's odds move due to the injury news regarding Allen.

Several futures markets are being affected by Allen's injury, including the Chiefs' Super Bowl odds, as they will immediately become the favorites in the AFC if Allen misses the remainder of the season. I would like to include the Chiefs in my Super Bowl portfolio, but not at a price of +550.

Super Bowl Picks: Contenders

49ers (+1200 via PointsBet)

Who is going to win the Super Bowl 2023

In Week 8, the San Francisco 49ers destroyed the Los Angeles Rams, and everyone was raving about how the Niners' offense utilized new running back Christian McCaffrey. In response to this, the markets dropped the 49ers' price point from +1700 to +1200 to win the Super Bowl.

Throughout the season, we've seen the Niners' odds fluctuate based on the results of each game. Now that the 49ers have swept the Rams in their season series, they will have the tiebreaker, but it appears that they'll actually be competing against the Seattle Seahawks for the NFC West title.

Cowboys (+1400 via Caesars)

There has been an edge in the odds for the Dallas Cowboys to win the Super Bowl for several weeks. As their price shortens, that edge is gradually diminishing, and it is no longer as significant as it was just a few weeks ago.

There is still an opportunity to wager on the Cowboys to win the Super Bowl at +1400, but I would not bet the +1100 that DraftKings is offering. The +1100 is exactly where I believe the Cowboys should be trading in order to win the Super Bowl.

Ravens (+1400 via DraftKings Sportsbook)

It is possible to argue that the Baltimore Ravens should be 9-0 at this point in the season, and they just acquired linebacker Roquan Smith from the Chicago Bears at the trade deadline. Although the Ravens have all of these positives, their odds of winning the Super Bowl are still trading at +1400.

The Ravens are definitely on my watchlist, but I have them priced at +2000 to win the Super Bowl, so I am not ready to place a wager just yet.

Vikings (+1800 via DraftKings)

Minnesota Vikings head coach Kevin O'Connell has his team off to a hot start, and the Vikings' defense continues to improve each week. But even at 7-1, I don't believe the Vikings are Super Bowl contenders, though they should make the playoffs while benefitting from an easy schedule.

It would be more appropriate for the Vikings to trade at +2800, rather than the +1800 we're seeing following Week 9.

Buccaneers (+2200 via Caesars)

A victory over the Rams might have saved the season for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Based on my power ratings, the Buccaneers had a 54.8% (-121) chance of making the playoffs prior to their game against L.A. Now they have a 69.6% (-228) chance. Since the NFC South is so weak, the Buccaneers are now back in first place in the division and their Super Bowl odds have shortened by only three dollars.

With the Buccaneers' price now at +2200 and no repercussions from their poor performance in the NFC South standings, I am tempted to bet on them again. I already have a bet on the Buccaneers at +1200 from earlier in the season.

Dolphins (+2500 via DraftKings)

The Miami Dolphins are undoubtedly becoming an interesting team in this market. We know how good they can be with Tua Tagovailoa at quarterback, but their odds lengthened significantly while the team lost games with Skylar Thompson and Teddy Bridgewater under center.

The Dolphins are one of only two teams to defeat the Bills in 2022, and their +2500 price offers tremendous value. I have the Dolphins priced at +1600 to win the Super Bowl, which is significantly shorter than the +2500 they're trading for at DraftKings.

Bengals (+3000 via BetMGM)

When the Cincinnati Bengals faced the Carolina Panthers in Week 9, they looked like the team that went to the Super Bowl in February They controlled the game completely and destroyed the Panthers. Cincinnati may not enter the playoffs with the best record or the shortest odds, but once they reach the postseason, watch out. The Bengals are trading at a price of +3000 to win the Super Bowl, which is an accurate price point.

Chargers (+3000 via FanDuel)

The Los Angeles Chargers lost at home to the Seattle Seahawks in Week 7, lengthening their price from +2000 to +3000 and their odds have remained unchanged since then.

I just can't get there with the Chargers due to the injuries to Rashawn Slater and Joey Bosa, and head coach Brandon Staley's decisions. In a big game with your money on the line, I'm not sure how anyone can trust Staley.

Super Bowl Picks: Hopefuls

Seahawks (+4000 via PointsBet)

Are people beginning to take the Seattle Seahawks more seriously after their victory over the Arizona Cardinals in Week 9? It certainly feels that way, as the Seahawks' Super Bowl odds have moved from +7000 to +4000.

Some haven't yet accepted that the Seahawks are good, and it's costing them money. The Seahawks are a playoff team in the NFC, and their odds are finally starting to reflect this.

Titans (+5000 via Caesars)

Against the Chiefs on Sunday Night Football, the Tennessee Titans almost made it six wins in a row. Although the Titans are better than I expected, they are not a good football team, which is why their odds for winning the Super Bowl remain at +5000. After taking advantage of an easy part in their schedule, the Titans now have an extremely tough schedule from here on out.

Rams (+6000 via Caesars)

Who is going to win the Super Bowl 2023

As the numbers have shown throughout the season, the Los Angeles Rams are a below-average football team, and their Super Bowl odds are finally reflecting this. Over the last few weeks, the Rams' odds have lengthened rapidly, and after their loss to the Buccaneers in Week 9, their Super Bowl odds have increased by 20 dollars.

Patriots (+6000 via DraftKings)

A team such as the New England Patriots is interesting in this market because they're better than the average team, but are nowhere near a Super Bowl contender. In Week 9, the Patriots defeated the Indianapolis Colts and their price point shortened to +6000. In my opinion, it's only a matter of time before the Patriots trade north of +10000.

Jets (+7000 via DraftKings)

The Jets defeated the Bills in Week 9 and their odds to win the Super Bowl shortened from +15000 to +7000. The Jets have performed much better than we anticipated, however, they should not be trading at +7000 to win the Super Bowl. Odds around +10000 would be more appropriate.

What's the secret to the Jets' success? It's mostly rooted in their strong draft class and defense. Rookie cornerback Sauce Gardner leads the way, and he's now -120 to win the Defensive Rookie of the Year Award.

Giants (+8000 via DraftKings)

Due to their six wins and an easy schedule, the New York Giants have earned an excellent chance of making the playoffs. The Giants are projected to win 10 games based on my power ratings, giving them an 81.5% (-440) chance of making the playoffs. If they make the playoffs, do I believe they'll win the Super Bowl? Absolutely not, which is why I have them priced at around +9000 for a championship.

Super Bowl Picks: Long Shots

Falcons (+15000 via DraftKings)

Who is going to win the Super Bowl 2023

This season, the Atlanta Falcons have exceeded our expectations and it is nearly impossible not to root for quarterback Marcus Mariota and head coach Arthur Smith to reach the playoffs. The Falcons' price point is expected to shorten in the coming weeks as they have an easy schedule and will find themselves in the thick of the NFC playoff race.
